President Park Still Won’t Step Down

After a long and scandal filled term, President Park Geun-hye has said she will shorten her term at the discretion of the National Assembly and has promised to step down afterwards. This has only turned a confusing situation, more confusing. Park has faced calls for impeachment, and with only 14 months left in her term, Parks spread-out exit from office is troubling to the hundreds of thousands of protesters. In her third public statement since the scandal, Park noted: “Not for one second have I pursued my personal interests. I have lived my life without the smallest personal greed”. It will be interesting to see what protesters and citizens will do next.
